HKSTP and FHKI's InnoPreneur Experience Journey Cohort 2 Job Shadowing Program for Secondary School Students to Explore Hong Kong's Innovation and Technology Sectors
The Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks (HKSTP) and Federation of Hong Kong Industries (FHKI) co-organized the InnoPreneur Experience Journey Cohort 2 Job Shadowing Program to attract talent to Hong Kong's IT and industrial sectors. In this 4-week program, 31 secondary school students gained hands-on experience at tech companies in fields like AI, robotics, biotech, and fintech. The program helped students gain industry experience, build networks, and explore career opportunities, benefiting both companies and students. The initiative aims to strengthen Hong Kong's talent pool and encourage young people to pursue careers in innovation and technology.BPS Global is one of the companies participating in this activity, responsible for assisting in coordinating and leading students to visit the Advanced Manufacturing Center (AMC) in Tseung Kwan O to help them understand the latest trends and technologies in the industry. Our Logistic Technology Department's General Manager Joman Chong guided the students to understand the business development, project management, drawing and procurement work of the engineering department from the side. Students can also get an insight into the latest automated warehouse equipment such as robotic arms, autonomous guided forklifts (AGF), sortation systems, and autonomous guided vehicle (AGV) to enhance their professional knowledge and skills. Students also participated in the company's team-building activities to experience workplace communication and the importance of teamwork and cooperation. In the future, similar experiential activities will be held continuously to increase the youth's access to emerging industries and build a diverse industrial and technological ecosystem to promote advanced technology development.
